Takoyaki octopus balls recipe

Ingredients:


  • -1 octopus
  • -1 lemon
  • -300 grams of flour
  • -100 milliliters of milk
  • -80 grams of butter
  • -200 milliliters of water
  • -3 eggs
  • -3 tablespoons of chopped chives
  • -2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • -1 teaspoon of yeast
  • -a pinch of salt
  • -a pinch of pepper
  • -3 tablespoons of mayonnaise (Japanese)
  • -1 bag of Katsuobushi (garniture)
  • -1 bag of Nori (powder) (Japanese seaweed)
  • -a takoyaki sauce (found in Japanese grocery stores)


Instructions:


Start first by preparing all your ingredients. Then, put the flour with water, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix it with a whisk until a mixture as smooth as possible.

This mixture is going to constitute the dough for the balls.

Then, boil your octopus in a saucepan. Once it is cooked, remove it from the water and cut it into small cubes.

You can add a little salt and a little lemon on your diced octopus.

In your (takoyaki) pan (with rounded shapes) put the mixture into the holes using a ladle, and add each time in the middle of it a diced octopus. (do not forget to grease the pan) Then bake the whole thing for 5 minutes.
