Mochi recipe (japanese)

Nutrition facts: 220 calories, 35 grams fat

Ingredients:


  • -300g rice flour (glutinous preferred)
  • -150 mL of warm water
  • -200g of anko (red bean) or azuki
  • -100 g of icing sugar


Instructions:


Mix in a bowl of glutinous rice flour with 50 grams of sugar. Add warm water
gradually to the mixture to obtain a soft malleable bracket.
With the tab, form balls by hand. In each of these ball drop a spoon
red bean (called anko) and close out the balls.
Here we took the red bean, but it is possible to take other ingredients such as strawberry,
the pandan, melon, green tea or ...
to give a cigar shape 3 to 5 millimeters in diameter.
Fold the dough already rolled with fingers until reduce by 10 cm. Repeat with remaining sheets.
Butter the baking sheet and store sarbourmas above.
Flatten the balls slightly, and put water to boil in a steamer.
Cook the balls in a steamer (like rice).
Once cooked and out of the water, you can sprinkle again with a little balls of rice flour and icing sugar.
You can try the mochi hot or cold according to your preferences.
